Protect Your 6.7L Power Stroke From a Costly CP4 Failure

The S&S Diesel Motorsport Gen2.1 CP4 Disaster Prevention Kit is designed to help protect the fuel system in 2011–2025 Ford Super Duty trucks equipped with the 6.7L Power Stroke.

A failing CP4 high-pressure fuel pump can introduce metal debris into the fuel system, potentially contaminating the injectors, fuel rails, lines, tank, and other components. The S&S Gen2.1 kit changes the fuel routing and adds dedicated return filtration to help contain that debris before it can circulate throughout the rest of the system.

What the Gen2.1 Kit Does

The kit independently supplies clean, filtered fuel to the CP4 case and metering side. The fuel supply splits into two separate lines approximately 25 inches before the CP4, helping prevent contaminated case fuel from back-feeding into the clean supply side during a pump failure.

Fuel leaving the CP4 case is then routed through a dedicated return filter before returning to the truck's fuel system.

The result is a purpose-built layer of protection between a CP4 failure and the expensive components downstream.

Gen2.1 Improvements

OE-Style Quick Connects — Eliminates the need to cut the factory supply line and avoids compression fittings and unnecessary threaded connections.

Dedicated Return Filtration — A billet return filter head captures debris leaving the CP4 before it can reach the tank, fuel lines, or supply pump.

Remote Fuel Supply Split — The clean fuel supply is divided approximately 25 inches away from the CP4 to reduce the possibility of contaminated fuel back-feeding during a failure.

Serviceable Donaldson Filter — Uses the readily available Donaldson P550943 spin-on fuel filter, rated at 9 microns at 99% efficiency.

Important: Disaster Prevention vs. CP4 Replacement

The S&S Gen2.1 Disaster Prevention Kit does not prevent the CP4 pump itself from failing. Instead, it is designed to contain the debris generated by a CP4 failure before that contamination can spread throughout the fuel system.

For owners who want to retain the factory CP4 while adding protection against the consequences of a failure, the Gen2.1 kit provides a significantly lower-cost option than replacing the high-pressure pump.

Owners who want to eliminate the CP4 entirely should consider the S&S DCR Pump Conversion instead.
